The Cruise Port of Bridgetown, officially the Deep Water Harbour, is
situated approximately 1 mile west or a 5 minute taxi ride from the
downtown or the city centre area.

Most properties are located on Barbados’ south and west coast, within easy
reach of Bridgetown’s cruise passenger terminal. Situated on the south coast
are the lively towns of Dover, St Lawrence Gap and Rockley.
The main international airport Grantley Adams is situated
approx. 13 miles from Bridgetown.

Where to Stay before or after your Cruise ?

Many hotels are located just south of Bridgetown in Carlisle Bay and on the south coast of Barbados in Needhams Point, near Dover Beach, Rockley Beach, Maxwell Beach and Worthing Beach. Properties are only a few steps away from the beach and the beautiful Caribbean Sea. The port is a 10-15 minutes drive away.

The West Coast has the better beaches and most exclusive places to stay. Hotels and luxurious resorts located right on the seafront can be found in St James and Holetown, but they can be more expensive. Restaurants, shops and golf courses are nearby. The port terminal is approximately 15-20 minutes drive away.

Cruise passengers can easily arrive in Bridgetown a day or two before their cruise departure date or remain on the island following the end of their cruise.     The port of Bridgetown is officially called the Deep Water Harbour. The passenger terminal is located about 1 mile west or a 5 minute taxi ride from downtown Bridgetown. Built in the early 1960’s, the port is located at the North-Western end of Carlisle Bay.

    Ships of major cruise companies such as Silversea Cruises, Windstar Cruises, Star Clipper’s, Thomson Cruises and TUI Cruises arrive at Bridgeport cruise piers. Popular ports visited on sailings departing from Bridgetown are Charlotte Amalie US Virgin Islands, Philipsburg on St Maarten and the Old Town port of San Juan in Puerto Rico. Plenty of hotels can be found in these ports as well.

    Large cruise vessels dock at one of the 4 deepwater quays; Breakwater, Berth 2, Sugar Berth and Esso Jetty quay. Within the cruise terminal building you will find plenty of duty free shops offering the finest jewellery, china, crystal and electronic goods.

    Barbados, sometimes referred to as “Little England” is a rather small but stunning tropical Southern Caribbean island with a rich British influent. It gained independence from the UK in 1966. The island is one of the premier tourist destinations in the Caribbean.

    Walk along a stone seawall to the centre of Bridgetown and the bright pink shops of Pelican Village. Just across the street is the public fish market. Nearby is the Barbados Museum, set in the former British Military Prison. This museum provides comprehensive details of the island’s historic past. Step back into the colonial history of this Anglican island at the 19th century St Michael’s Cathedral, located on the outskirts of Bridgetown. It’s a pestigious and impressive old church and one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean.

On the west coast popular towns are Holetown, St James and nearby Speightstown, which is one of the island’s biggest towns of the island. Picture perfect beaches such as Crane Beach and Bottom Bay Beach are blessed with waving palm trees, turquoise blue waters and soft white sand.
