Staying at EPIC SANA Lisboa Hotel
The EPIC SANA Lisboa hotel is designed by architect Nuno Leonidas and boasts an attractive modern decor.
This hotel is rewarded with high review scores and receives outstanding comments from guests all over the world. What are my thoughts and opinions about the hotel.
Does it really deserves a high review score ?
Location
Boasting a prime location in the city centre, the EPIC SANA Lisboa Hotel is located in the upscale area of Amoreiras, a short distance from Marquês de Pombal and Avenida da Liberdade.
The location was a little way from the main sites, but still very good. Tourist will enjoy its great location as main attractions are located within easy reach.
As the hotel is located on top of a hill, it’s a bit of a walk all the way to the city centre (20 minutes), but a taxi ride will cost you only 5 euro. Alternatively you can easily get on foot to nearby metro station Marquês de Pombal (Blue or Yellow Line).
From this station it’s only a couple of minutes to the heart of the city.
Room
The room I slept in was brand new and featured modern technology like automatic curtains and a Bluetooth connection to the room’s sound system.
Other facilities included free WiFi and MP3 docks, 37-inch LCD TV, and a Nespresso coffee machine (one of my favorites).
The room itself is spacious at 30 square metres, clean and is equipped with a nice working desk.
I absolutely enjoyed the spacious and modern room. An extra nice touch were the small bites at arrival in the room, and the welcome note. They were delicious.
The bathroom is modern and has a hugh bath tub with rain shower. I really enjoyed it after a long day exploring Lisbon. Toiletries are from perfumer Loris Azzaro, which was amazing.
Service
Apart from the great rooms, the staff at the EPIC SANA was very attentive and displayed excellent customer service. The check-in staff were very welcoming and are extremely happy to orient you with surrounding places of interest.
In fact every member of staff from porters, housekeeping to room service could not have been friendlier. They were all very professional!
Spa
The fabulous Spa is one of the highlights of the hotel. It’s a first class Spa where you can enjoy the soothing effects of a body massage or a refreshing facial. With an area of 1.700m2, the Sayanna Wellness Spa features a fitness center, several treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy facilities with natural light and relaxation room overlooking a botanical garden.
On top of that there is a huge indoor swimming pool which I really liked.
Dining / Bars
In the EPIC SANA Lisboa you can enjoy a varied cuisine, adapted to all occasions and tastes. The Fleur-de-Lys is the hotel’s main restaurant serving the finest national and international cuisine by Chef Patrick Lefeuvre.
The restaurant is decorated in beige and rusty tones. After an activity-filled day me and my wife had dinner here, which is served from 7:30 pm. It was very nice and tasteful.
One of the great features of the hotel is the Upscale Bar on the 9th floor. It boasts an amazing view over the city and the Tagus River. The upscale Bar is set around the rooftop infinity swimming pool with an elegant waterfall. This is also the ideal space for outdoor events.
During my visit in November the bar was closed, but I can imagine it’s very inviting to swim here during the hot summer days, or to enjoy a romantic sunset with a cocktail in your hand.
Breakfast
Breakfast buffet in the morning was excellent, plenty of choice. Great coffee, fresh orange juice, etc. Excellent start of your day.
Conclusion
We had a fantastic overall experience, great room and excellent service. I definately would recommend the hotel as a pre or post cruise stay.
Does this hotel deserves a high review score ? YES !!
