Vessels tie up at Pier 35 South or North, located along the downtown waterfront Embarcadero area. The new cruise passenger terminal, James R. Herman Terminal, on Pier 27 is scheduled to welcome cruise ships in September, October 2014. It will replace the existing facility at Pier 35, but Pier 35 would still serve as a secondary facility.
